Showing its gutsy heart and steady resolve, Execration pulled off a stunning 3-2 reverse sweep to dethrone Bren Esports and keep its Cinderella run in the playoffs lower bracket of the MPL Philippines Season 7 late Saturday night, May 29.

Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog on Khufra came through with the winning play to punctuate Execration's comeback in the 50-minute Game 3 that went down as the longest game of the season.

Ch4knu executed the Tyrant's Revenge plus flicker combo into Tyrant's Rage to hit Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's Granger, Allan "Lusty" Castromayor's Rafaela and Angelo "Pheww" Kadita's to close out the come-from-behind win.

That set the stage for the heart-stopping series comeback by the squad of coach Jomie "Pakba1ts" Abalos and Billy "Z4pnu" Alfonso.

Ch4knu once again made the plays with his Jawhead in Game 4 to give Duane "Kelra" Pillas' Harith an early advantage and eventually power Exe's 18-5 romp over Bren in 18 minutes.

Kiel VJ "Kielvj" Hernandez's Claude and Renz "Renzio" Cadua's Gloo spearheaded their team's assault with the help of Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic's Mathilda and Ch4knu's Rafaela for a swift 13-minute victory in the do-or-die Game 5.

Execration waited for the right time to strike, cleaning up three heroes from Bren including KarlTzy's world championship-winning Lancelot on the mid lane to freely take the Lord and end the all-important game with a 9-5 scoreline.

With the thrilling comeback, Execration set up a fated match-up against ex-standout Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales and Aura PH--Kielvj and Renzio's former team--for the last MPL-PH Grand Finals spot.

The two will also dispute the country's remaining slot in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 after first grand finalist Blacklist International secured the first ticket to MSC with a 3-1 win over Aura earlier.

Z4pnu and his crew got their long-awaited revenge against Bren which eliminated them back in Season 5.

Coach Francis "Dukeyyy" Glindro's Bren, the MPL Season 6 titlist and M2 world champion, settled for a fourth-place finish this time.

Duckeyyy's boys were not able to capitalize on their 2-0 lead after Lusty's Khufra led the methodical Game 1 win and Pheww's Mathilda powered the hard-earned win in the intense Game 2.
