Gov't arsenal explosion in Bataan that left 2 workers dead under probe


Authorities have launched a thorough investigation on the May 26 explosion in its arsenal in Bataan which left two workers dead and two others injured.

Government Arsenal director Arnel Depakakibo confirmed that the blast occurred at the Primer Composition Mixing Facility of Explosives Division at the Government Arsenal (GA) in Limay, Bataan.

He said the explosion occurred during the preparation of the priming composition for caliber .45 bullets.

The GA (Government Arsenal) is conducting a separate investigation on the circumstances surrounding the explosion, and will be submitting its full report to the Department of National Defense," said Depakakibo.

"Meanwhile, we are looking after the welfare of the families of the victims and ensuring that the two other affected personnel are receiving the appropriate medical attention," he added.
