The Department of Health (DOH) has detected more than 6,000 fresh cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday, May 27.
The 6,483 newly confirmed cases pushed the active infections in the country to 48,109, the DOH said in its latest case bulletin.
The total number of active cases is equivalent to four percent of the Philippines' cumulative caseload which is currently at 1,200,430.
It was noted that "25 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 22 are recoveries."
"In addition, four cases were found to have tested negative and have been removed from the total case count," the DOH added.
Of the active cases, 92.7 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, 2.2 percent are asymptomatic, 1.6 percent are in critical condition, 2.1 percent are severe, and 1.47 have moderate symptoms.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 20,379 after 210 more fatalities were logged.
The recovery total also climbed to 1,131,942 with 4,335 new survivors.
