BIR files P410-M tax evasion cases vs 18 Metro taxpayers


The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion cases against 12 corporations and six store owners based in Metro Manila for alleged refusal to pay tax debts totalling to more than P410 million.

Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Legal Marissa O. Cabreros said separate complaints were submitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for review and formal filing before the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).

Twelve of the respondents are under the jurisdiction of the Caloocan revenue region while the six other corporate taxpayers come from South National Capital Region (NCR).

Caloocan Revenue Regional Director Gerry Dumayas named the six corporations as Cosko Export and Import, Infinity Plastic Packaging Concepts, Chonta Industrial Packaging, Legrand Commercial, Home Center Construction Supply, and Powerlock Industrial Supply.

The six business proprietors were Eldon B. Guinita of Egui Enterprises, Marie Antoinette Lagman of Clothwear Garments, Glenn Godoy of Golden Win Enterprises, Edmar Tovillo of Tovillo Construction and Services, Lloyd Neilsen Chiong of Green Dot Boutique, and Ma. Donna Ayeta of Alegesuanri Trading.

Meanwhile, South NCR Revenue Regional Director Glen Geraldino named the six corporations as South Phoenix Airways from Pasay City; Halley Movers Express from Muntinglupa City; Seaa from Guadalupe, Makati; Philip Solutions Provider of Las Pinas City; Elite Travel Center of Muntinglupa, and Mega Maintenance and Allied Services of Las Piñas City.

Top officers of the corporations were also included on the charged sheets.
