“For the month of June, based on the forecast of the Climate Monitoring Section, one or three cyclones will possibly enter the Philippine area of responsibility,” weather specialist Ariel Rojas said.

Citing the climatological tracks of the past cyclones for the month of June from 1948 to 2017, Rojas said they are looking at two possible scenarios.

The first scenario is that the cyclones will likely make landfall and cross country’s landmass towards the West Philippine Sea.

The second possible scenario is that it will not make landfall and will only move over the Philippine Sea before recurving away from the country.

Once the cyclones enter the PAR, Rojas said that they will be given local names “Dante”, “Emong” and “Fabian”.

“Ang ating climatological track ng mga bagyo ay ginagawa nating guide para may idea tayo kung ano ang mga posibleng asahan sa mga paparating na bagyo (Our climatological track of cyclones is our guide so we can have an idea of what to expect from upcoming cyclones),” he said.
