Ascent & Medical City contract INAEC for medevac services

The Ascent Air Mobility platform chose INAEC Aviation Corporation (INAEC), a Filipino air charter operator, to perform air medical evacuation (medevac) services for The Medical City.

Ascent is an air mobility, on-demand, tech-powered service for booking helicopters and planes in the region.

INAEC, for its part, has extensive experience in providing air medevac services for emergency patients nationwide, using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

Its previous air medevac cases include bringing divers suffering decompression sickness, victims of car accidents, mountain climbers in need of rescue, individuals, even children, with life-threatening illnesses from the provinces to Metro Manila for medical attention.

Under its partnership with The Medical City and Ascent, INAEC will carry patients as well as medical personnel, sensitive medical cargo and fragile medical equipment to and from any of The Medical City’s facilities nationwide.

“In medical emergencies, time is of the essence," INAEC General Manager Dexter Ampong pointed out.

"A span of minutes can spell the difference between saving a life or losing one. That is why we made it our mission to provide immediate, safe, and reliable air transport to patients in urgent need of medical care," he explained.

With the current pandemic, the aviation firm uses medical-grade PPEs to protect its crew as well as its passengers. "We ensure the safety of everyone during each step of the process.”

And “While we aim to democratize access to air mobility, safety is of course foremost in our minds," concurred Ascent Founder and CEO Lionel Sinai-Sinelnikoff.

Significantly, patients of The Medical City can save up to 85 percent of their time using INAEC, versus land transportation.

“This initiative enables The Medical City to enhance its dedicated healthcare services by making the process more efficient, convenient and seamless,” confirmed Dr. Christopher Napoleon DelosReyes, Senior Vice President of The Medical City.

"Avoiding road traffic increases our ability to provide timely and life-saving medical care for our patients,” he underscored.

INAEC achieved its Stage 2 Certification for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) this January.
