The reach of "It's Showtime" could not be disputed.
A huge swathe of the populace, from the bejeweled set to the bakya crowd, watch the show, even now with ABS-CBN having already lost its franchise.
It is as such that many in the LGBTQIA+ community were only too happy to see its main host, Vice Ganda, use the show to educate viewers on gender pronouns, recently.
The issue is a sensitive one particularly among transgenders as not all of them identify as he or she. Some consider themselves non-binary.
"Like ako, non binary ako, "said Vice. “Kaya kung hindi kayo sigurado, just ask and let them tell you how they wanted to be addressed...huwag mag-assume..."
“Yung mga LGBT din, dapat open kayo doon na mas magandang tanungin tayo kaysa na mag assume sila at tawagin tayo ng hindi natin gusto.”
Many lauded Vice for the effort.
