Domagoso said the city is “on track” with the construction of the field hospital at Rizal Park’s Burnham Green.

During the field hospital's groundbreaking ceremony on April 20, Domagoso said the city aims to finish its construction in 60 days.

“We are on the fourth week and nasa 60 percent na kami (We are now at 60 percent),” Domagoso told CNN Philippines in an interview on Tuesday.

“Pag natapos natin in 60 days, para ma-inspection natin ng husto (If we finish it in 60 days, and we are able to inspect it thoroughly), a few days thereafter, it’s going to be functional,” he added.

Domagoso said the field hospital will cater to mild and moderate COVID-19 cases.

The field hospital, according to Domagoso, will also help create space in hospitals for non-COVID patients.

The Manila Mega COVID-19 Field Hospital has a 336-bed capacity.
