Hospitals in Manila have accommodated patients from the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) after a fire broke out on Sunday morning (May 16).
Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso confirmed in a tweet that several babies from the PGH were brought to Sta. Ana Hospital.
Two patients from PGH were transferred to Ospital ng Maynila for appendectomy, according to Dr. Karl Laqui, hospital director.
The Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center also accommodated four babies from PGH.
Meanwhile, the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital has provided five liters of pasteurized human milk for babies from PGH that were transferred to Sta. Ana hospital.
A fire broke out past midnight on Sunday (May 16) at the operating room sterilization area on the third floor of PGH's central block building.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the fire.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
