Explosive find: 13 vintage bombs found in village chief’s backyard

TACLOBAN CITY – Thirteen vintage bombs were found Friday in the backyard of a barangay chairman’s house in Capoocan, Leyte.

Police Major Ambrosio Demain, Capoocan police chief, said the vintage bombs were reported to have been found by Florence Carolino-Misagal, chairman of Poblacion Zone 1.

Misagal said they found the vintage bombs while they were excavating at the back portion of their house.

The bombs were already corroded with rust and could no longer be ascertained if their fuse is still intact.

The bombs were turned over to Capoocan Police that coordinated with the Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal for their proper disposal.
