The local government of the City of San Jose Del Monte continued its COVID-19 vaccine rollout for health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities at the SM City mall on Friday, May 14.
The SM City San Jose del Monte utilized its spacious hallway on its second level as one of the city’s vaccination sites.
To make the procedure seamless, the mall management identified areas for each step of the vaccination process, dispatched additional safety officers and a sanitation team to ensure that health and safety protocols are being observed.
The city health office is targeting to vaccinate 400 individuals from A1 to A3 priority groups with the initial dose of Astra Zeneca per day.
Sionilyn Abargos, one of the nurses administering the vaccine, said most of the frontline health workers in the city have already received their shots, and most of the recipients now are senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
Each recipient underwent screening and consultation before the vaccine administration and later observed for 30 minutes.
The emergency response team from both the local government unit and SM were also on standby during the inoculation process.
Mary Joy L. Ballego, SM City public relations officer, said the next vaccination will be on May 17 and 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m..
SM management has been closely coordinating with the city health office of San Jose del Monte to help speed up the administration of COVID-19 vaccines and curb the spread of the virus in the city.
