PH records 6,385 new COVID-19 cases


The country has now over 1.1 million confirmed infections after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 6,385 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In its case bulletin issued Thursday, May 13, DOH said that the Philippines has now 1,124,724 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started in 2020.

DOH also noted that there are 4, 289 new recoveries - bringing the number of COVID-19 survivors to 1,050,643.

Meanwhile, the death count increased to 18,821 after DOH confirmed that 107 patients have died of COVID-19.

The latest COVID-19 data from DOH showed that along with the new reported recoveries and deaths, there are currently 55, 260 active cases in the country.

DOH noted that of the active cases, 93.3 percent are mild; 2.2 percent are asymptomatic; 1.4 percent are critical, 1.9 percent are severe, and 1.18 percent are moderate.

The DOH detected 4,842 new COVID-19 cases on May 12.
