The country’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination program got yet another boost with the arrival of more than two million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Covax Facility. And more are coming this June and July.

Coupled with a report from the OCTA Research Group that the number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has gone down by 56 percent compared to the peak of the April surge, this would translate to more hope – and more vaccinations – going into the final week of a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
