With the Land Transportation Office implementing stricter requirements on student driver’s license applications by adding a Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) certificate as one of the prerequisites to securing one, applicants must first learn the basics of driving safely by following rules and regulations mandated by the LTO.

Here are some of the road traffic signs that must be followed as issued by the LTO and the Department of Public Works and Highways:

Regulatory signs

Regulatory signs are those that inform road users of traffic laws and regulations which, if disregarded, will constitute a violation. Under this category are priority signs, direction signs, prohibitive/restrictive signs, speed signs, parking and stopping signs, and miscellaneous signs.

Warning signs

Under this category are horizontal signs, intersection signs, advance warning/traffic control device signs, road width signs, road obstacle signs, pedestrian signs, railway level crossing signs, supplementary signs, and other warning signs.
