This National Heritage Month, discover artworks of the past at 'Segundo' auction
Heritage and history are often best reflected in art. Artists gain inspiration from the things of their era and create works whose relevance and beauty go beyond their lifetimes. Even in during this pandemic, artworks, including those considered to be classics, still have a space dedicated for them to remind us of where we have been and where we are going.
Giving everyone a chance to time travel is Palacio de Memoria, with its second auction event for the year, happening on May 22, 2021, Saturday, at 2 p.m. Dubbed as “Segundo,” it will feature exquisite art pieces.
“Art is an integral part of our lives as it’s an expression of one’s emotions and captures particular moments in time," said Palacio de Memoria general manager Camille Lhuillier-Albani. "Incorporating art pieces in our house truly makes it a home. It can lend fun and visual drama to your home, while uplifting your mood during these times.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Lhuillier-managed auction house is expected to present world-class pieces that can add enviable European and Filipino touches to any home. Here are some of the auctions prime pieces.
Palacio de Memoria will donate part of the auction proceeds to a local charitable institution to help those badly affected by the pandemic. The auction preview will run until May 21, 2021.
