The President unleashed profanity-laced rants against former Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario during his televised address Monday, calling them "ulol" (fools) and "idiotic" following their criticisms on his supposed weak stance in the territorial dispute with China.

In his remarks, Duterte told Carpio to shut up and threatened to punch Del Rosario as he rejected their criticisms that he was not supposedly "asserting enough" in the conflict with China. He reminded the two former officials about the "faux pas" when the country lost control over a local shoal to China during the past administration.

"May dalawang taong maingay. Sabi nga ni (Chinese President) Xi Jinping na ah alam namin. Iyong ‘yong dalawang si Albert pati si Carpio ang nagregalo sa amin niyang mga islands mo eh. Niregalo, namimigay ang mga p***** (There are two noisy people. Xi Jinping even said' Albert and Carpio gave us your islands. These were given to us by the son of a b*** ). Tapos you have the temerity to blame anybody for your --- in diplomatic term 'faux pas,'" Duterte said in a televised address Monday, May 3.

The President earlier asked Carpio and Del Rosario why the country "lost" the West Philippine Sea if there was supposedly "bright." He was referring to the 2012 standoff when the Aquino administration pulled out the country's ships from the Panatag Shoal upon the intervention of the United States. China however decided to keep its ships in the area, effectively taking control of the shoal then.

Carpio and Del Rosario, vocal defenders of the Philippine territory against Chinese excessive claims, have criticized Duterte's supposed soft approach towards Beijing in the maritime dispute. They have called on the President to step up his defense of the country's territorial sovereignty following the recent incursions of Chinese vessels into local waters.

In his remarks Monday, the President bewailed the past government's decision to withdraw the ships from Panatag Shoal years ago, blaming Carpio and Del Rosario for supposedly bringing "misery to our country."

"Ngayon na (Now that) history is being made, recorded everyday, you want yourselves to (be) free from any liability," he said.

He then hurled insults at Carpio during his speech, even questioning the track record of the former magistrate.

"Itong si Carpio tumaba na nang husto. Walang ginawa kung hindi magdaldal. Tumahimik ka ngang p***** i** mo. Leche ka. Tapos madaldal daw ako nagmumura. Eh bakit? Ganoon naman talaga ako (Carpio grew fat. He has done nothing but talk. Shut up son of a b*tch. I supposedly talk and curse a lot. So what? That's how I am)," he said.

"Anong nagawa mo pagka-Supreme Court mo? I want to say something pero ayaw kong --- it might degrade into something kaya hintuan mo ‘yang pagyayabang ninyo (What did you do in the Supreme Court? I want to say something but I won't. I might degrade into something so better stop your arrogance)," he added.

On Del Rosario, Duterte blamed the former foreign affairs secretary for his role in the pullout of the government ships from Panatag Shoal. He said sources claimed that Del Rosario "never got the permission" from then President Aquino on the matter.

"Itong Albert na ito ako pa ang sinisisi. Kung makita kita suntukin kita eh. Buang ka (Albert is blaming me. If I see you, I will punch you. You're crazy)...Now pagdating ko nandiyan na ‘yong barko ng China, ang atin ang wala (When I assumed office, the Chinese ships were already there. Ours was not)," he added.

"Iyan nga eh nagmamarunong eh. That’s the problem when this cockeyed scholars kuno begin to tinker in the affairs of the country or allow them to have a wide elbow room so as to commit and discredit the country in the process," he added.

He said government troops were "ready to die for their country" during the Panatag standoff but were ordered to pull out.

"Kayo ‘yong... P***** i**. Alam mo kung ano talaga ang problema? P***** i**, wala kayong bayag. Iyan ang totoo (You son of a b***. You know what the problem is? Son of a b***, you don't have the balls. That's the truth)," he told the two former officials.
