3 men nabbed for carnapping, robbery-extortion in Muntinlupa


Three men were arrested Tuesday by the police in Muntinlupa City for alleged robbery-extortion and carnapping.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the suspects as Marohomsar Emran, 36; Caraico Ubay Jr., 49; and Renato Mollasgo 43.

The three are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10883, the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

They were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Carnapping and Intelligence Unit of Parañaque City Police Station at about 11:40 a.m. in front of RMT Industrial Complex Access Road in Brgy. Tunasan, Muntinlupa. The police also recovered a stolen Nissan van.

According to the police, the Nissan van owned by Teodorico Larosa was stolen at about 5 a.m. on May 2 on Roxas Blvd. in Parañaque.

Suspect Emran demanded P70,000 from Larosa in exchange for the return of his van.

A police operation led to the arrest of Emran who revealed the location of the van and the identity of his cohorts.

In addition, Emran was also arrested for robbery-extortion and Ubas was nabbed for possession of picklocks or similar tools in violation of Article 304 of the Revised Penal Code.

The police are continuing their operation to arrest the fourth suspect identified as Taronngay, alias “Pilot,” a resident of Paliparan, Cavite.

“The immediate response of our operatives manifest their vigilance and commitment to eradicate all forms of lawlessness in the metro,” NCRPO chief Police Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.
