Filipino fans of K-pop artist and actress Kim Sejeong, star of the hit drama “The Uncanny Counter,” have opened a community pantry where people can get dinner ingredients for free.

The Sesang Bubble Friends community pantry is located in Barangay Nagkakaisang Nayon in Novaliches, Quezon City and offers four choices of dinner ingredients to about 70 families in the area.

Each member of the family can choose one from the four menu ingredients: ginisang sardinas (sauteed sardines), tortang sardinas (sardine omelette), corned beef guisado (sauteed corned beef) and ginisang ampalaya sa sardinas (sauteed bitter gourd in sardines).

People can get ingredients like sardines, corned beef, eggs, tomato and vegetables like ampalaya, onion and carrot.

Sejeong fan Mafu and her Sesang Bubble Friends thought of this unique pantry to easily manage people who line up.

The pantry is decorated with a banner featuring photos of Kim Sejeong, who is a former member of girl groups Gugudan and I.O.I.

"Opo, pagkain dito ay libre. Kumuha lamang batay sa pangangailangan (Yes, food here is free. Please get based on what you need),” the banner read.

She played the role of Do Ha-na in “The Uncanny Counter,” which aired from November to January this year. She also released her new album “I’m” last March.

Her Pinoy fans plan to set up a second community pantry in Cebu City in mid-May.

There are 1,067 community pantries in Metro Manila and different provinces to date, according to the Community Pantry PH data. Community pantries serve different areas and give items, mostly food, for free to people amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
