Coast Guard assists fire victims in Davao City


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted over 200 families that were rendered homeless after a fire broke out in a coastal area in Davao City.

Based on the report of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was first reported in a residential house in Purok 11, Block 8 & 9, Muslim Village, Barangay Ilang, Davao City at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28. The house is owned by a certain Joseph Caymo.

The BFP declared the fire under control after two hours.

Personnel of the PCG Sub-Station Ilang assisted in the rescue and evacuation of the affected residents.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
