VP Leni leads online musical tribute to COVID-19 frontliners on Labor Day

As a way to show gratitude to the Filipino healthcare workers steeped in the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) organized an online musical tribute for frontliners on May 1, Saturday.

The OVP invites everyone to tune in to the Facebook page “Istorya ng Pag-asa (Stories of Hope)” to watch Harana: Musical Tribute to Filipino Frontliners.

The INP project, initiated by Vice President Leni Robredo’s office, features real-life stories of ordinary Filipinos who have risen above adversity and are enduring sources of hope, inspiration, and motivation for their fellowmen.

In the year since the pandemic, the country has gone through and surpassed a lot, but the OVP said “marami pa ang ating bubunuin para tayo’y muling makabangon bilang isang bansa (we still have a lot to do to rise once more as one country).”

“At sa labang ito kontra COVID-19, hindi matatawaran ang puso at sipag ng ating magigiting na frontliners (And in this fight against COVID-19, we cannot deny the heart and diligence of our brave frontliners),” the OVP said in a post.

The online musical tribute will honor the sacrifices that these “bagong bayani (new heroes)” are making for the country.

“Ang online Harana ay isang gabi ng pag-alala at pasasalamat sa gitna ng hamon na dulot ng pandemya; anumang pagsubok kapit-bisig nating haharapin ito (The online serenade is a night to remember and show gratitude amid the challenges of the pandemic, despite the struggles, we are arm-in-arm in facing it),” Robredo’s office said.
