3-year-old dies in Manila fire




A three-year-old girl died in a fire that hit a residential structure in Tondo, Manila past midnight on Tuesday (April 27).

The Bureau of Fire Protection National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) identified the fatality as Cia Sophia Quilit. 

Investigation showed that the fire began at the second floor of a four-story residential structure owned by the Quilit family in Dagupan, Tondo at 1:13 a.m.

mThe blaze escalated to a second alarm at 1:16 a.m. and a third alarm at 1:24 a.m.Firefighters declared the fire under control at 2:18 a.m. and put it out at 3:58 a.m.
Around 20 families were displaced in the blaze. 

Up to 10 structures were affected by the fire, with the estimated worth of damages to property placed at P300,000.

Further investigation is underway.
