Two members of K-pop boy band D-Crunch have tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), prompting other Korean artists who appeared on TV music shows with them to undergo testing and isolation.

I-Grand Korea, D-Crunch’s agency, announced that members Hyun-wook and O.V both tested positive for COVID-19.

“Hyun-wook and O.V were voluntarily tested recently as a precautionary measure because they felt slight flu-like symptoms and in the morning of April 24, it was finally confirmed based on test results,” it said.

It added, “Hyun-wook and O.V stopped their activities, immediately went into self-isolation and are taking necessary measures based on guidelines of quarantine authorities.”

As a result, the remaining members of D-Crunch and staff who came in contact with the two underwent testing.

“Currently, D-Crunch's schedule has been temporarily suspended, and we will announce the schedule again through the fan cafe later,” I-Grand Korea added.

D-Crunch performed on the SBS MTV program “The Show” on April 20 and MBC Music’s “Show Champion” on April 21.

Other artists who also went on the two shows have announced they will undergo testing for COVID-19.

K-pop star Kang Daniel, Yoon Ji-sung and boy band OnlyOneOf announced they will undergo preemptive testing for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Korean golf legend Park Se-ri tested positive COVID-19 on April 24 after getting in contact with musical actor Son Jun-ho on her show.

"I was told that an actor who joined me in a broadcast on April 21 tested positive for the coronavirus on April 23. I immediately took the coronavirus test and was given the positive result this morning," she said, according to Yonhap News.

She added, "I'll put myself under self-isolation in compliance with authorities' guidelines and all broadcasting staff members and others who might have come into contact with me plan to take the coronavirus tests.”.

Son Jun-ho tested positive for COVID-19 on April 23 but before this, he was a guest on Park Se-ri’s online show “Naver NOW Serizabeth” on April 21 along with K-pop boy band JYJ’s Kim Junsu, actor Shin Sung-rok and musical actress Kim So-hyun, Jun-ho’s wife.

They were on the show to promote the musical “Dracula,” which is set to start its run next month in South Korea. Kim Junsu, Shin Sung-rok and Kim So-hyun underwent tests and were found to be negative for the virus.

However, Kim So-hyun, who was a close contact of her husband, underwent quarantine that led to the cancellation of the performance of the musical “Phantom,” where she is in the lead role, on April 23.

South Korea has been experiencing a surge in COVID-19 infections and recently, Korean comedian and entertainer Kwon Hyuk-soo, best known for appearing on “Saturday Night Live Korea,” tested positive for COVID-19).

Kwon Hyuk-soo and K-pop girl group STAYC became guests on the radio show of former girl group Secret member Hyosung. After undergoing tests, Hyosung and STAYC were found to be negative for COVID-19.
