BLACKPINK achieves 4th music video reaching 1 billion views on YouTube

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK set a new record when their “As If It's Your Last” music video reached one billion views on YouTube. 

The music video achieved the milestone on April 23, or in three years and 10 months after it was uploaded on June 22, 2017.  

This is BLACKPINK’s fourth music video to reach 1 billion views on YouTube, the most by a Korean artist to date.

On Oct. 13 last year, BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah” music video reached one billion views on YouTube, hitting the record in four years and two months since its release on Aug. 8, 2016. 

Before this, their “Kill This Love” music video reached one billion views on Sept. 2, 2020, or nearly 17 months since it was released on April 4, 2019. 

Their first music video to get one billion views on YouTube was “DDU-DU DDU-DU” on Nov. 11, 2019, or nearly one year and five months since its release on June 15, 2018. 

With this, they became the first K-pop group to get one billion views for a single music video on YouTube. 

BLACKPINK is the No. 2 most subscribed artist in the world on YouTube with 60.3 million subscribers behind Justin Bieber, who has 62.7 million. 

In addition, BLACKPINK’s four music videos are on YouTube’s top 10 most viewed music videos in the first 24 hours of release of all time:
