More than 370K family food packs ready for distribution - DSWD


As Typhoon “Bising” has affected four regions, more than 370,000 family food packs (FFPs) are ready for distribution to the local government units (LGUs) that are in need of relief augmentation support , the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Wednesday, April 21.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) reported that as of April 21, 6 p.m., a total of 370,058 FFPs worth P188.61 million were available for distribution. 

The report also showed that more than P527.74 million worth of non-food items (NFIs) and more than P306.58 million worth of other food items were also readied as part of the DSWD’s stockpiles.

The DSWD’s total standby funds amounted to P562.34 million. Of this, P517.99 million has been earmarked as available standby funds at the DSWD Central Office and P44.35 million at the Field Offices.

The DSWD reported over the weekend that it  has standby funds and available stockpiles amounting to more than P1.59 billion.

The  DSWD assured the public last week that it has funds to augment the resources of the LGUs that will be affected by Bising.
