Former Dota veteran player Kenneth “Flysolo” Coloma has paved a new path in his esports career.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang powerhouse team Aura PH has officially secured the services of Flysolo on Wednesday, April 21.
“Flysolo is now officially a part of Aura PH!… We’re so hyped to have him with us. Let’s all give him a warm welcome!
“He’s 1 of the 6 who’s coming to IGNITE the fire and burn brighter than ever. Who knows, maybe you could be one of them—you know, one of the remaining 5.”
Flysolo told Manila Bulletin in a quick chat that he will serve as the captain and tank player of Aura’s second team.
Aura manager Mitch Liwanag also said that they are planning to have Flysolo as playing coach.
“Thanks for the opportunity, Aura. New game, new journey let’s go!” he said through his Facebook account.
Widely known as the cerebral captain of former local Dota 2 powerhouse Clutch Gamers, Flysolo decided last February to give his esports career a second wind as he moved to Moonton’s booming mobile MOBA game.
The 29-year-old esports veteran told Bulletin in a previous interview that he jumped ship to ML due to lack of sponsorships to continue playing competitive Dota.
While he bared that he got an offer from a Dota 2 team in Kazakhstan, it became hard for him to fly out of the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Initially, Flysolo planned to build a pro ML team from scratch but Aura came calling. In a chat with Bulletin last month, he said in jest: “I guess they know na may ibubuga ako sa ML scene (I guess they know that I have potential in ML).”
Flysolo was a 10-year Dota pro starting with Dota 1 and played for several respected squads including Rave, Acion Arena and Warriors Gaming Unity but it was in Clutch Gamers that he made his lasting mark.
As the captain-position 5 support, he led CG featuring now-TNC Predator stars Kim “Gabbi” Santos and Armel “Armel” Tabios to major international tournaments such as Manila Masters, EPICENTER in Russia and Mars Dota 2 League in China all in 2017.
