PAWS puts up community 'paw-ntry' for pet owners

A lot of community pantries have sprouted all over Metro Manila, but there's one in Quezon City that was put up especially for pet owners who might have been struggling to feed their furry friends during this pandemic.

On April 19, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) put up a community “paw-ntry” in Quezon City in an effort to help indigent pet owners feed their furry friends.

The “paw-ntry” is located in front of PAW Animal Rehabilitation Center (PARC) on Aurar Blvd. in Katipunan Valley, Loyola Heights. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, except holidays.

The pantry has a variety of dog food to offer to pet owners.

PAWS said they’re currently scarce with cat food so they were not able to include one in the pantry.

The group however assured that they will provide pet food as long as they have “extra supplies.”

PAWS also encouraged others to set up their own “paw-ntry” in their respective communities.

Those who wish to donate pet food can coordinate with PAWS’ “friendly gate boy” named JJ.

“He will try to help you arrange tour donations on the table,” the group said.

Meanwhile, individuals who wish to donate in-kind for PAWS' animals will be given a receipt for their donation.
