Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic czar Edison Bong Nebrija took it upon himself to personally deliver “ayuda” or assistance to his teammates who have been previously stricken with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

A Facebook post from Nebrija Monday, April 19 showed him bringing various types of snacks and bottles of alcohol to several of the agency’s COVID survivors.

But what the MMDA personnel probably realized afterward was that Nebrija wasn’t simply there to bring them supplies. Rather, EDSA’s so-called “Eagle Alpha” sought to boost their morale by seeing them in person after their harrowing episode with the illness.

“This morning I gave their ayuda after going through their Covid ordeal. I asked this photo taken with them and they asked why? This is good for our unit I said, to have Team Positive,” the MMDA official wrote.

“I’m just glad [they’re] back, up and about. Thank you Lord for your healing,” added Nebrija.

In the same post, Nebrija bared that a total of 41 individuals from his team have fallen ill to the dreaded COVID-19.

But he said 32 of them “are now fully recovered and have received their health clearances to go back to work”.
And estimated 200 workers from the agency have contracted COVID-19. At least eight of them have died from it.
