DOH logs 9,628 new COVID-19 cases


The Department of Health (DOH) reported more than 9,600 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, April 19.

The case bulletin of the DOH showed 9,628 new cases, bringing the total number of COVID cases to 945,745.

With 9,266 new recoveries, the total recoveries rose to 788,322.

The total number of deaths also climbed to 16,048 with 88 new deaths.

Data from the DOH also showed 141,375 active cases of which, 96.9 percent were mild, 1.5 percent were asymptomatic, 0.5 were critical, 0.7 percent were severe, and 0.43 percent were moderate.

The Health department said 16 duplicates were removed from the total case count, saying nine were recoveries.

"Moreover, 19 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," the DOH said.

The Health department said four labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on April 18, 2021.
