GrabPay adds cash-in feature

Users can now make instant cash-ins to their GrabPay wallet for free by linking it to their bank accounts (Banco de Oro (BDO), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Unionbank) or visiting the nearest SM mall or 7-Eleven store.

“Our partnership with three of the biggest banks and leading commercial establishments in the Philippines means using GrabPay has become easier and more convenient," according to Erwin Yamsuan, Country Lead for Grab Financial Group Philippines.

Add to that, GrabPay is the only e-wallet that gives users loyalty points.

GrabRewards points earned from GrabPay can be used to Pay with Points for future transactions or redeem offers from the GrabRewards catalog.

Users can fund their GrabPay account in seconds as soon as they link the app to their bank accounts.

All they have to do is tap on ‘Payment’ on the bottom navigation bar of your Grab app.

Once they are redirected to the following screen, ‘Cash In’, they should select ‘Linked Bank Account’ among the options.

From there, they can choose BDO, BPI or Unionbank, input their online banking details on a one-time basis and proceed to linking their account.

Once linked, they can cash in instantly.

There is no need to enter their online banking details every time they wish to fund their account.

This saves time, energy and money as GrabPay does not charge transfer fees.

The user will only need to enter a one time password (OTP) that will be automatically sent to their Grab-registered mobile number.

This is an added security feature to protect their account.

On the other hand, those who don’t have bank accounts or prefer in-person cash-ins can do so at any of the business centers of SM’s network of 360 Malls, Markets, and Servicio Centers and almost 3000 7-Eleven branches nationwide.

They can come to the nearest 7-Eleven branch and go to Payment section of the app, select Cash In, tap ‘In-Store’ cash, choose ‘7-Eleven’, enter the desired cash-in amount and tap Submit.

Then they can the generated barcode to the cashier and pay.

If they are at SM, they can select ‘SM Business Center’ in the app and show their Payment reference code to the agent in any SM Business Center and pay the amount that they wish to cash in to their GrabPay wallet account.

GrabPay users can also use the service to make food orders through GrabFood, do some grocery shopping via GrabMart and even send gifts to friends and family using GrabExpress.

They can likewise use their wallet for non-Grab merchants.

GrabPay is accepted across thousands of establishments nationwide ranging from malls (SM Supermalls, SM Department Store, SM Supermarkets, SM Parking, Ace Hardware) to fashion, beauty, and wellness retailers (H&M, Uniqlo, Watsons, Healthy Options), and to cafes and restaurants (Starbucks, Wildflour, Pink’s, Conti’s, Toby’s Estates) and many more.

GrabPay has also enabled secure cashless online payment and checkout across thousands of websites and partner apps including Zalora, BeautyMNL, Shein, Shop SM, Power Mac, Kumu, Goodwork and Taxumo.
