Citing the monitoring report from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the DSWD reported that as of April 14, a total of 3,999,239 beneficiaries have been served in the NCR, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

The local government units (LGUs) have disbursed more than P3.99 billion, it said quoting the DILG report. The national government is targeting to provide one-time financial assistance to around 22.9 million people in the NCR-plus.

Based on the report, the LGUs in NCR distributed more than P2.9 billion worth of aid to 2,944,201 recipients.  There are 11,172,988 target recipients in NCR.

In Bulacan, a total of 149,373 recipients have been served, receiving P149.3 million worth of aid.

The LGUs in Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, meanwhile, have distributed more than P905.6 million in financial assistance to 905,665 recipients.

The DSWD reported on Wednesday, April 14, that the LGUs have disbursed almost P3 billion worth of financial aid to over 2.9 million low-income earners affected by the ECQ in the NCR-plus.

The DSWD also rushed in defense of LGUs in the NCR-plus that were slammed over the supposed slow distribution of the government’s one-time financial aid.
