In a Palace briefing Wednesday, April 14, Philippine Heart Association President Dr. Orly Bugarin clarified that vaccines against COVID-19 were safe for persons with hypertension or cardiovascular disease.

There is no solid evidence saying that vaccination against COVID-19 has a bad effect on patients with high blood pressure),” Bugarin stressed.

So we are encouraging our countrymen with hypertension or cardiovascular disease to get vaccinated against COVID-19),” he added.

The cardiologist also reminded patients to take their maintenance medicine before their inoculation.

The only effect we can see is maybe they are nervous, they are nervous before their vaccination, or they fail to take their medicine so their blood pressure rises),” Bugarin added.
