In an advisory, the hospital said its number of patients has already exceeded both its allocated regular and intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 cases.

“Be informed that as of April 13, 2021, the 103 beds of Ospital ng Muntinlupa (50 percent of its 206 authorized bed capacity) allocated for COVID-19 patients is now at 111 percent occupancy with 114 COVID cases,” the hospital said.

OsMun’s ICU, meanwhile, is already 142 percent occupied.

“Seventeen patients are admitted to our ICU with an allocated 12 adults ICU beds,” it said.

The hospital also advised patients who will come to the hospital for emergency services to “expect prolonged waiting or eventual referral to other hospitals.”

“OsMun will continue to find means to increase (its) capacity without compromising the safety and wellbeing of our COVID and non-COVID admitted patients, and our available medical frontliners,” it said.

Dr. Edwin Dimatatac, hospital director, said that COVID-19 is much “worse” now compared to last year.

“Dati madami ang dagsa pero ang ICU namin nung nakaraang taon ay tatlo o lima lang, ngayon po naging 17. Ang ibig sabihin po nito, mas malala po ang COVID ngayon, mas marami po ang nagiging critical so mag ingat, mag doble ingat (We had a lot of patients last year, but we only had a few in our ICU, around three to five. But this year, we have 17. This only means that COVID is much worse now because we have more patients who are in critical condition. So please, be cautious, be extra cautious),” Dimatatac told DZMM Teleradyo in an interview on Wednesday.
