Coast Guard assists in establishing free internet connection in Sulu

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT) in establishing free internet connection in Jolo, Sulu.

In a statement of Friday, April 9, the PCG said the BRP Bagacay (MRRV-4410) ensured the safe and secure transportation of personnel and essential Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment last week.

The Coast Guard said the equipment transported were computer monitors, servers, network switches, printers, networking cables, WiFi equipment, and office supplies for the province.

The initiative was made successful with the cooperation of the Coast Guard District South Western Mindanao and the Western Mindanao Command.

Last month, the PCG also assisted the DICT in establishing free internet connectivity in Mapun and Taganak Islands in Tawi-Tawi.
