Cirtek buys vaccines as part of ESG commitment

Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corporation (“Cirtek”) (PSE: TECH) has recently embarked in programs to demonstrate its adherence to environmental, social and good governance (ESG) principles.

Amid the increasing consciousness of companies to integrate ESG principles in their ways of doing business, Cirtek Vice Chairman Jorge Aguilar said “We believe that these ESG programs amplify Cirtek’s core values of excellence, integrity, innovation and sustainability.”

Heeding its social responsibility and in order to hasten the achievement of herd immunity against COVID-19 within the company and ensure the good health of its employees, Cirtek’s has facilitated the reservation of vaccines.

The firm said it has tied up with a leading pharmaceutical company that cooperates with the appropriate government agenciesand has ordered an adequate number of vaccines. This move is welcomed by Cirtek’s employees who desire to be vaccinated at the soonest possible time.

Among its programs for the environment, Cirtek has also embarked on greening its backyard.

What was previously an idle, unusable vacant lot at the (back of Cirtek building) was turned into a garden by civic-minded employees of Cirtek.

The program was launched last March 19, with the active participation of the employees of Cirtek and its subsidiaries spearheaded by the Environment, Health and Safety Committee of the employees of the Cirtek Group.

Participants planted various types of vegetable seedlings with the high expectation that they would later reap a bountiful harvest of green, leafy vegetables.

The group does not intend to profit from this endeavor, but much more so on being able to contribute to the improvement of the environment. The program also provides a source of joy and fulfillment for the employees, and a source of diversion in these stressful times of the pandemic crisis.

Cirtek said the year 2021 promises a surprising, increased growth in the semiconductor and wireless, broad band business segment of Cirtek, fueled perhaps by the shortage of semiconductor chips worldwide, the  positive outlook of the end of the pandemic crisis and the return of customer demand on various commodities including electronics parts for automotive application.

Simultaneously, the telecom business of Cirtek will possibly grow this year as new 5G-model antennas of Quintel start to roll out before the end of the fourth quarter of 2021.

Cirtek’s business projections take a higher turn with significant increase of orders from majority of its customers. With this positive improvement of the business, Cirtek is hiring additional people to augment its current work force. This development thus gives assurance of continued employment as opposed to what the other business sectors are unfortunately experiencing.
