Two law professors of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) have succumbed to coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a Facebook post, LPU Law Student Government (LSG) Makati mourned the loss of Professor Joel Bodegon who died on Tuesday, April 6.
"Let us come together as one Lyceum family, remembering the life of Atty. Joel Bodegon whose beautiful soul has inspired those around him," LPU-LSG wrote.
"We mourn the loss of a devoted husband, loving father, an esteemed professor and a beloved brother to many, with the hope that he is now finally home with our Father in heaven."
Meanwhile, lawyer Romel Bagares paid tribute to Prof. Marilyn Domingo who was also a petitioner against the controversial Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
"Terrible new coming a day after Easter: we've already lost two professors at Lyceum Law to COVID-19. We not only lost expertise and wisdom, but lives spent in the service of others," Bagares tweeted on Tuesday.
"Grateful for their lives and dedication to students, their friendship; as Christians we look to the promise of the Resurrection, when our tears of grief shall give way to tears of joy, and then all our tears shall be wiped away, and death finally dies," he added.
