To comply with the temporary suspension of inbound passenger travel to Region 6 (Western Visayas) from the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus area, as well as from Cebu and Davao, Philippine Airlines (PAL) immediately cancelled all flights from Manila to Bacolod, Iloilo, Antique, Caticlan, Kalibo and Roxas cities until April 10, the flag carrier announced last night (April 5).
PAL also cancelled flights from Cebu to Caticlan until April 10 and from Cebu to Bacolod on April 9.
PAL flights from Iloilo, Bacolod, Roxas and Kalibo to Manila, however, continue to operate during this period.
The PAL flight from Antique to Manila will operate on April 10.
However, flights to and from other regions, including those from Manila, Cebu and Davao, shall continue to operate during the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period until April 11, subject to restrictions and requirements imposed by each Local Government Unit (LGU).
Those allowed to travel to all other regions within this ECQ period include health and emergency frontline services personnel, government officials and frontline personnel, duly-authorized humanitarian assistance actors and persons traveling for medical or humanitarian reasons
Persons going to the airport for travel abroad, those crossing zones for work or business permitted in the zone of destination, and going back home, returning or repatriated OFWs and other Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) returning to their places of residence as well as locally - stranded individuals (LSIs) are likewise allowed to travel.
The suspension of travel to Region 6 was announced in a directive from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), as requested by the concerned Local Government Units (LGUs) and as endorsed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Earlier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) has also announced its flight cancellations following the extension of the ECQ and the Region 6 moratorium.
From April 5 to 11, 2021, CEB cancelled the Manila – Boracay (Caticlan)-Manila flights of 5J 899/900, 5J 891/892, 5J 895/896, 5J 901/902 and 5J 905/906.
CEB also cancelled the Manila – Kalibo – Manila flights of DG 6317/6318 and the Manila – Cagayan de Oro – Manila flights of 5J 381/382.
For April 6 and 8, 2021, CEB cancelled Manila – Cebu – Manila of 5J 551/552 and 5J 559/560.
From April 6 to 7, 2021, CEB cancelled the Manila – Coron (Busuanga) – Manila flights of DG 6043/6044.
For April 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11, 2021, it cancelled Manila – Coron (Busuanga) – Manila of DG 6047/6048 .
For April 6 and 8, 2021, Manila – Legazpi – Manila of DG 6195/6196 was cancelled: for April 7 to 8, 2021, Manila – Pagadian – Manila of 5J 771/772 and for April 8, 2021, San Jose – Manila of DG 6031/6032.
The airline also cancelled flights to and from NCR Plus and Western Visayas: Manila – Iloilo, 5J 463 from April 5 - 10, 2021; Manila – Roxas, 5J 375, April 6, 2021; Manila – Bacolod, 5J 483, April 6 and 8, 2021;Cebu – Bacolod – Cebu, 5J 124/125, April 6, 2021; Cebu – Boracay (Caticlan) - Cebu, DG 6132/6133, April 8, 2021; Manila – Roxas – Manila, 5J 375/376, April 8 and 10, 2021 and Iloilo– Manila, 5J 464, April 9, 2021.
Affected passengers have been informed via contact details provided in the booking. They may select their preferred option through the Manage Booking portal on the Cebu Pacific website up to 30 days from date of departure.
For its part, AirAsia has also issued its advisory reminding guests that only essential travel will be allowed until April 11, 2021 and travel from NCR Plus, Cebu and Davao City to Region VI (Kalibo, Bacolod and Iloilo) has been suspendedel until April 10, 2021.
AirAsia's domestic flights to and from Manila will continue to operate subject to compliance with LGU restrictions on frequencies and capacity.
