According to an airport source, Duterte-Carpio arrived at NAIA Terminal 2 via Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Davao at around 9 a.m.

By 2:15 p.m., she had boarded a Singapore-bound Singapore Airlines flight (SQ-917) from boarding gate no.115.

"Mayor Sara carried a child with her and was followed by her assistant and one PSG (Presidential Security Group) bodyguard," the source said.

The lady mayor has three children. The source did not specify which child Duterte-Carpio took with her.

The Manila Bulletin contacted Duterte-Carpio's information officer to find out the reason for the local chief executive's trip. However, the officer wasn't aware that the mayor had left the country.

Duterte-Carpio took a seven-day medical leave last year from September 28 to October 5 wherein she also left Davao.

The official's departure took place amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the "Greater Manila" area. However, aviation authorities have previously said that outbound travel for Filipinos citizens isn't restricted, as ridership has been way down eversince the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic began last year.
