K-pop superstars BTS will be releasing a new song next month to mark their comeback, according to a news report.

Korean media outlet Sports Donga reported on April 5 that BTS will be releasing a new song in May.

As response to the reported May comeback, Big Hit Music, BTS’ label, told media outlet Newsen that “the artist-related schedule will be released after being finalized.”

BTS’ last album was “BE” that was released on Nov. 20 last year. If the May comeback is confirmed, BTS will return to the music scene in six months.

During a recent interview with ET Canada, RM said, “Yes we are working on our new music and everybody is for their solo or singles and like personally. So yeah, ARMYs can expect many things from us for this year too.”

BTS recently released the Japanese single “Film Out" on April 2, which debuted at No. 1 on Japan’s Oricon daily digital single chart. The song also became No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs chart in 97 countries and regions.

“Film Out” will be part of BTS’ Japanese compilation album “BTS, The Best” that will be released on June 16.

Last March 31, the BRIT Awards announced that BTS have been nominated for International Group along with Run the Jewels, Fontaines D.C., Foo Fighters and Haim. This is BTS’ first nomination at the BRITs and a first for a Korean act.

The BRIT Awards 2021 will be held on May 11 at The O2 arena in London and will be hosted by Jack Whitehall.
