The BI chief said foreign nationals are expected to follow Philippine laws while they are in the country, and disregarding rules and being disrespectful to persons of authority may cause their deportation.

Last year, a Spanish national was blacklisted for violating local enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) policies, resisting arrest, and insulting a Makati policeman.

Morente reiterated that foreigners who disrespect persons of authority may be considered undesirable aliens.

"Foreign nationals who disrespect symbols of our country and persons of authority are not welcome,” he stressed.

Immigration intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. likewise added that they have received reports that some foreign executives of local companies have been violating IATF protocols at their workplaces.

“We will conduct investigation and file immigration cases against those involved,” he stated.

He said immigration action against undesirable aliens is separate from criminal cases that may be filed against them by other law enforcement authorities.
