1.4 million live births registered by PSA in 2020


There was a total of 1,403,336 live births registered in the country in 2020, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said. 

The PSA said that more males were born than females last year. 

Data released on the PSA's official Facebook page showed 731,605 of the total live births were males, while the remaining 671,731 were females. 

Cavite had the most number of registered births last year with 59,709. 

It was followed by  Cebu, with 50,247; Bulacan with 46,880; Rizal with 46,653; and Laguna with 43,677, the PSA said. 

According to worldometers website, the total population of the Philippines was estimated at 109.5 million last year.
