No vaccination operations in Manila on Good Friday


The Manila city government will temporarily suspend its vaccination operations on Good Friday (April 2).

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said they will resume inoculating frontline workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities on Black Saturday (April 3).

The schedule and designated vaccination sites for Saturday will be announced on Friday.

In a live broadcast on Facebook, Domagoso said the suspension of vaccination operations will be done to "maintain the high quality" of the vaccination sites.

Data from the city government showed that 33,279 frontline workers, senior citizens, and PERSONS with comorbidities have been inoculated with Sinovac and AstraZeneca COVID-19 jabs as of Thursday (April 1).

The Manila mayor urged the public to pre-register for their vaccine slots at manilacovid19vaccine.ph.

As of Thursday night, a total of 191,680 individuals have pre-registered at the website.
