The cardinal revealed this in a sit down interview with Father Emilio Arbatin,  spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Capiz, the video of which was shared to the media on Wednesday, March 31.

"Always a plantito. I like trees," said Advincula of Capiz.

The cardinal said he is fond of trees, particularly indigenous trees.

The 69-year old prelate described himself as an outdoorsy person.

"I'm a lover of nature. I'm into mountain trekking, also into photography," said Advincula.

Pope Francis named Advincula as the 33rd Manila archbishop on March 25.

His appointment came almost four months after he was created cardinal along with 12 others on Nov. 28 last year.

Advincula replaced Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who had been serving as Prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples since February last year.
