Despite not being on the list of schools that were approved to hold limited face-to-face classes, a Cebu-based school reportedly started offering in-person classes which prompted the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to call it out.
In a Facebook post by the National Congress of Veterinary Medicine Students (NCVMS) on March 29, it was reported that the Cebu Technological University-College of Veterinary Medicine (CTU-CVM) started holding face-to-face classes.
“The School was ordered to stop right away if indeed the report is true,” said CHED-RO VII Regional Director Max Aljib in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 30. “This was already coordinated with the school admin concerned and they said it will stop conducting face-to-face classes,” he added.
On March 26, CHED released a list of schools that were allowed hold limited face-to-face classes starting the second semester of the academic year (AY) 2020-2021.
CHED said that a total of 24 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have fully complied with the guidelines set by the commission, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Based on the list issued by CHED, the CTU-CVM is not included - thus, it was not allowed to hold limited in-person classes.
During the Laging Handa briefing on March 30, CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera III said President Duterte has allowed the HEIs offering medicine and allied health sciences programs such as Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, Midwifery, and Public Health to hold limited face-to-face classes.
