According to Dr. Maria Rochelle Abat, National Immunization Program coordinator for COVID-19 in Muntinlupa, the City Health Office (CHO) recorded 5,657 frontline health workers from the Ospital ng Muntinlupa, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Medical Center Muntinlupa, and other private hospitals who received their first doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines as of March 29, covering 108 percent of the priority group population.

In addition, the vaccination of city health workers is ongoing and to date, 269, or 37 percent, of local frontliners such as members of barangay health emergency teams and contact tracers have already received their first dose.

CHO acting chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi said the city government is eyeing to complete in the next two weeks the vaccination of the remaining A1 sub-priority group of frontliners from stand-alone facilities, clinics and diagnostic centers, dental clinics and other institutions, targeting 444 individuals per day before proceeding to inoculate senior citizens in Muntinlupa.

Bunyi said the CHO is coordinating with the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs in preparing the vaccination of more than 45,000 senior citizens in Muntinlupa. A total of 19 public schools and a private school have been identified as vaccination centers for seniors.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi is urging senior citizens and other members of priority groups to avail of the vaccination of the government for them to have an added protection against the adverse effects of COVID-19.

He encouraged the public to pre-register in the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program through https://vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac and to strictly observe health protocols such as frequent hand-washing, the wearing of face masks and face shields, and physical distancing especially during the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.

On March 29, the Ospital ng Muntinlupa announced that it has recorded 129 percent full bed capacity on COVID-19 cases.

Muntinlupa Public Information Officer Tez Navarro said barangays were ordered to reactivate local isolation centers to accommodate asymptomatic cases and residents with mild symptoms to decongest primary health care and quarantine facilities.

On March 29, Muntinlupa’s active COVID-19 cases jumped to 908 from 587 on March 23. The city recorded 7,051 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 5,945 recoveries and 198 deaths.
