Pasig River Ferry Service limits operations during Holy Week ECQ

Planning to use the Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) during the week-long enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in "NCR-plus?"

The ferry service will only operate from Monday, March 29 to Tuesday, March 30 this Holy Week, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

"The Pasig River Ferry Service will temporarily suspend its operations during Holy Week from April 1 (Maundy Thursday) until April 4 (Easter Sunday). Normal operations will resume on April 5 (Monday)," an MMDA advisory read Monday.

An addendum to the advisory sent Monday afternoon bared that the PRFS would already be closed to passengers beginning Wednesday, March 31.

"Meanwhile, as Metro Manila (NCR) is under enhanced community quarantine, the ferry service will be implementing 50 percent seating capacity," noted the agency, which oversees the PRFS.

It further said that all authorized persons outside residence or APORs are allowed to ride the PRFS, provided they bring an identification card.

NCR-plus refers to the National Capital Region (NCR) and the nearby provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal. The Palace announced over the weekend that the area would be placed under ECQ--the strictest lockdown protocol--from March 29 to April 4.
