The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended voter registration from March 29 to 31.
Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez cited the reimposition of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and nearby provinces as reason.
"Due to the reimposition of ECQ, work in Comelec offices in NCR+ including filing and reception of applications for #VoterReg2021 and other registration services shall be suspended from March 29 to 31, 2021," he announced on Sunday, March 28.
The Comelec Office for Overseas Absentee Voting also suspended overseas voting registration activities in all of their local field registration centers for the same reason.
"We will be suspending overseas voting registration activities in all of our local field registration centers for the week of March 29 to April 2, 2021 due to the ECQ and Holy Week holidays," Comelec OFOV said in a Facebook post.
"Most of our personnel will be working from home on March 29 to 31, 2021, so please feel free to reach out to us during regular office hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Manila time)," it added.
Comelec OFOV said for rescheduling of appointments and other requests, they may be reached via these numbers +63 905 034 5158 and +63 951 875 9882 or https://comelec gov.ph/?r=OverseasVoting,
