"No," City Administrator Ding Soriano said on Monday in reply to the question if they would re-impose the use of quarantine passes in the city.

On the first day of ECQ on Monday, Mayor Edwin Olivarez visited checkpoints set up at the boundaries of the city together with Parañaque City Police Chief Col. Maximo Sebastian, Jr. in Loyola Memorial Park and Baclaran.

He also personally witnessed the city's preparation for the distribution of food packs to residents who will be affected by the ECQ due to the rise in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

He said on Sunday that they have already allotted funds to provide aid to the residents.

"Kami po sa lokal po, katulad po sa amin sa Parañaque, nag allocate na po kami ng mga relief goods na ipapamahagi po namin para sa mga taumbayan (Here in Parañaque, we have allocated for the distribution of relief goods to our citizens)," he added.

He said that the government is considering giving local government units (LGUs) one month of their internal revenue allotment (IRA) like it did last year.

The grant was given to cover the funding requirements for the one-time financial assistance to cities and municipalities.
