DOH records 15,771 COVID-19 cases among healthcare workers


More than 15,000 healthcare workers have so far been infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Data released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, March 29, showed  15,771 COVID-19 cases among healthcare workers as of March 27.

Of the figure, 15,061 have recovered and 82 have died.

As for the 628 active cases, the DOH said 122 are asymptomatic, 478 mild, 7 moderate, 13 severe and 8 critical.

Healthcare workers are the topmost priority in the government’s national COVID-19 immunization program.

The Philippines already received a donation of Sinovac and AstraZeneca shots from the Chinese government and the COVAX Facility, respectively.

As of March 20, more than 330,000 healthcare workers have already been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines.
