Work takes down NXP, grabs breakthrough MPL victory

Work Auster Force went to work in the deciding Game 3 as it downed Nexplay Esports, 2-1, to bag its first win in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Sunday, March 28. 

Unleashing its trademark relentless aggression from the qualifiers, Work utterly crushed NXP's two marksmen setup in Game 3 with hyper-carry Daniel "Chuuu" Chu's Hayabusa at the helm. 

Chuuu came through with a perfect record of eight kills and six assists to lead Work's 16-6 decimation of Nexplay in just 11 minutes. 

Clarense "Kousei" Camilo's Alice (2-2-5) and Patrick "rTzy" Grecia's Lunox (2-1-8) also stepped up to help the rookie team get its first win in Moonton's professional league.

Work bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Aura PH last week as it improved to three points and moved up to No. 2 in Group A as of posting time. 

On the other hand, NXP suffered its second straight defeat following a 2-0 sweep at the hands of Season 6 runner-up and M2 playoffs finisher Smart Omega last Friday. 

Coach Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio's team nonetheless stayed at No. 2 in Group B at the moment with five points on a 2-2 series win-loss slate. 

It was actually NXP that took Game 1 as it broke away from a close contest en route to a 20-7 romp in 15 minutes behind John Paul "H2wo" Salonga's Benedetta and Renejay "RENEJAY" Bacarse's Claude. 

But Frediemar "3MartZy" Serafico's unstoppable Uranus fueled Work's 24-20 victory in 15 minutes in Game 2 to force the rubber match.
