Leaning on the classic Ling-Angela combo, Onic PH easily swept Laus Playbook Esports, 2-0, to score its straight win in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Sunday, March 28.

Jaylord "Hate" Gonzales' Ling went ham in the series with the help of Jason "Jay" Torculas' Angela as Onic posted a fitting follow-up to its 2-1 victory over defending world and MPL champion Bren Esports in the opening week.

With the swift sweep, Onic tied rival Aura PH at the top of Group A with identical five points but with a better 2-0 series win-loss record.

League rookie Playbook once again struggled with only coach Brian "Panda" Lim and a lone player present at the bootcamp in accordance with MPL's health and safety protocols.

LPE suffered back-to-back sweeps to Blacklist International and Onic as it remained at the bottom of Group B with two points on a 1-2 slate.

Onic got off to a scorching start in Game 1 as Hate's Ling secured multiple kills with the help of Jay's Angela.

Christian "Iy4knu" Manaog's Alice set up pickoffs on Jay "JAKE THE DOG" Lapitan's Claude and Joshua "Aspect" Tating's Granger then went for the Luminous Lord to seal the 20-8 win in 19 minutes.

LPE had a better showing at the start of Game 2 but Onic's Ling-Angela combination and Iy4knu's Alice were just too much to handle in the mid to late game.

The two-time MPL runner-up punctuated the series with a dominant 17-8 triumph in just 11 minutes.
